Fun Educational Programs at Crossroads

Learn about eggs during Saturday Science at Crossroads at Big Creek on April 8, 2 pm. The program includes videos about chick development and hands-on “eggs-periments” in oology (the science of eggs). Meet at the Collins Learning Center.

Door Peninsula Astronomical Society president Dave Lenius will share the story of how the Voyager 1 and 2 spacecrafts are exploring places where nothing from Earth has ever flown before during a society meeting April 11, 7 pm. If the sky is clear, the meeting will also become a viewing night. Meet at the Stonecipher Astronomy Center, 2200 Utah St. in Sturgeon Bay.

The next installment of the Fish Tales lecture series will take place April 12, 7 pm, when Daniel Zielinski of the Great Lakes Fisheries Commission in Traverse City, Michigan, will present “Development for Fish Passage and Invasive Species Control at FishPass.” He’ll explain how science and engineering are being applied to achieve bidirectional, selective fish passage and control sea lampreys on the Boardman River near Traverse City. The program will be held in person at the Collins Learning Center and will also be available online at doorcountylibrary.org/event.html.
