Great Lakes-inspired Jewelry at Sturgeon Bay’s Greco Gallery

Jewelry by Rachel Sowinski.

Show your love for our region with Rachel Sowinski’s new jewelry collection featuring the shapes of the Great Lakes, Door County and Wisconsin. Now available at Greco Gallery, each piece has a geographical silhouette that was painstakingly hand-cut with a jeweler’s saw from brass, copper, or sterling silver. Some pieces are composed of multiple layers and soldered together. Sowinski also makes custom orders, ranging from bracelets with an Upper Michigan cutout to Washington Island-shaped pendants.

Born and raised in Door County, Sowinski began her artistic education at Hands On Art Studio in Fish Creek. Her formal education includes studies in graphic design and metalsmithing at University of Wisconsin – Green Bay, and she owns The Gift Itself in Green Bay.

Greco Gallery, located on Sturgeon Bay’s historic Third Avenue, features the work of 13 artists in a non-commissioned, cooperative gallery where 100 percent of the sales go back to the artists. The gallery is open 10 am – 5 pm Monday through Thursday, 10 am – 6 pm Friday and Saturday and by chance on Sunday. For more information call 920.743.5000 or visit grecogallerycoop.com.
