Griffon String Quartet Visits Enhances School Music Programs

To continue carrying out its mission to enhance student learning and academic achievement through increased exposure to – and participation in – music, the Griffon String Quartet will visit three Door County schools Nov. 12.

The schools participating in this series of residency activities do not have strings programs, making these experiences even more significant in building relationships with the schools’ music programs by performing in classrooms and assemblies. The quartet will work with the Southern Door Middle School choir, Southern Door High School band and Sturgeon Bay High School concert band; and give an assembly for Sunrise Elementary students.

The quartet’s programs take the excitement of live performance to school audiences and add demonstrations and participation elements to weave in interactive learning opportunities and educational substance.

The Griffon String Quartet will also continue its outreach programs through winter community concerts and performances at Sunrise House and the Aging and Disability Resource Center.
