Guenzel Gallery Salon Marks 10 Years

Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek invites the public to attend the free festivities marking the 10th anniversary of its Guenzel Gallery Salon on Jan. 21 from 6 – 9 pm.

The party is the culmination of the two-week Gallery Salon exhibition, which is open to artists of all media who would like to show and sell their work. This year, an unprecedented 300 pieces of artwork were entered in the salon. The party provides the final opportunity for buyers to purchase works.

“The salon celebrates the full spectrum of artistic disciplines – from fiber arts to oil painting – while providing an unparalleled selection for potential buyers,” said Kay McKinley Arneson, director of marketing and exhibitions. “With work displayed from floor-to-ceiling and in every media, it’s easy for visitors to find pieces they connect with and artists to find inspiration in others’ works.”

The party will provide complementary refreshments throughout the evening, as well as live entertainment by singer/songwriters Jess Holland and Larry “Thor” Thoreson.

At 8 pm, the three winners of the cash Salon People’s Choice Awards will be announced. The party attendees will also recognize the honorees with a champagne toast. Public voting for the Salon People’s Choice Awards occurs during the celebration.
