Heins Creek Citizen Science Adventure

Join the Door County Land Trust for a wild citizen science adventure at Heins Creek Nature Preserve and search for wild critters on Sept 29. The adventure will include a short walk down to Heins Creek where participants will use aquatic sampling equipment to discover what is living here and an aquatic index for determining the health of the creek.

This data will help the Land Trust monitor the quality of the water over time and understand how land use activities in the watershed impact the creek. Wear good walking shoes that can get wet and pants you can roll up to your knees. All kids attending will receive a free nature journal and outdoor activity kit at the completion of the adventure.

This program runs from 9-11 am and is $10 per person with a limit of 20 participants. For more information and to reserve a spot visit doorcountylandtrust.org.
