The Door County Historical Society will host its yesteryear program “The Ridges Sanctuary” on Sept. 14, 1 pm, in the Vignes School at the Heritage Village at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay.
Anna Foster and George Cobb will present the history of The Ridges Sanctuary – a private, nonprofit nature preserve dedicated to protecting the diversity among the ridges and swales in Baileys Harbor – and share stories of its founders, who believed in preserving the land for future generations. Foster is an environmental interpreter at The Ridges, and Cobb is a dedicated volunteer.
This program is free, but donations are appreciated. The Heritage Village, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay, is open for self-guided tours, 10 am – 3 pm. The adult admission fee is $6.50; a donation for youth admission is appreciated. To learn more, contact the Door County Historical Society at 920.421.2332 or [email protected].
