Jan Comstock Exhibits in Marshfield Clinic

“Sunny Pasture” by Jan Comstock.

Artwork by Jan Comstock of Baileys Harbor was accepted into the 25th Annual Culture & Agriculture Exhibit in the New Visions Gallery at the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

The Culture & Agriculture Exhibit started 25 years ago when the Midwest was in the midst of the farm crisis and the first Farm Aid was held. The exhibit focuses on agricultural heritage and the American traditions of agrarian art. American agrarian art has its roots in the Great Depression and the New Deal era where projects were created to employ artists to document America, its people and their lives.

A collection of 94 works of art on agricultural themes will be on display from July 11 through September 2 for the exhibit, and participating artists hail from Tennessee to California and other points throughout the United States. The exhibit offers everything from traditional paintings, fiber creations, photography, sculpture and more.

The New Visions Gallery is open Monday – Friday from 9 am – 5:30 pm.

Artwork by Comstock can also be seen at Erinnwood Studios/Gallery, open Friday – Sunday from 10 am – 5 pm or by appointment, located at 7456 Hwy 57, two miles south of Baileys Harbor. For more information or to view more of Comstock’s artwork visit http://www.erinnwood.com.
