Jim Rericha Creates Party Favors at the Paper Shop

A very special project recently took place at the Woodwalk Gallery Paper Shop: Jim Rericha created 200 party favors in handmade paper – one for each guest at his daughter’s wedding, which will be held at Woodwalk Gallery next summer.

Rericha picked plants from a nearby field and arranged them on a large sheet of freshly pulled handmade paper. The plants and paper were pressed by a hydraulic press and each plant was removed to reveal a delicate impression. The process is called “reverse embossing.”
