Kicking Off the 2015 Season

Volunteers gathered to kick off the 2015 season at the Corner of the Past and Old Anderson House Museum for their annual get-together and planning session. In addition to the volunteers, the Sister Bay Historical Society has hired two full-time docents who will round out the staff. Susie Smith and Carter Dary will be on hand to direct daily activities and to welcome visitors to view the collections at the Old Anderson House Museum and tour the ten historic buildings with the aid of the new audio system. Guests will view antique furniture, farm implements, historic photos, vintage clothing and uniforms. Children will be invited to participate in a scavenger hunt that results in a free ice cream cone.

Visitors are encouraged to view the Society’s website, sisterbayhistory.org to learn of upcoming events beginning June 16. The Corner of the Past Farmer’s Market will begin June 27 from 8 am to 12 pm. The Saturday markets will also feature the Heritage Programs that highlight the talents of local artists who will demonstrate various painting techniques, glass fusing, wood carving, photography, beading, and the talents of local musicians as well.

The Corner of the Past will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm, at the corner of Hwy 57, Country Lane, and 10310 Fieldcrest Road, 1½ miles south of downtown Sister Bay.
