Last 2023 Exhibit At Fine Line

Fine Line Designs Gallery’s final exhibit of the 2023 season is set to open Aug. 10 with an artist reception 4-6:30 pm. Exhibit III features works by fiber artist Sue Benner, oil painter Kristy Goggio and watercolor artist Michael Ireland, who will give a demonstration Aug. 11, 11 am – 1 pm.

While pursuing a degree in molecular biology and a master’s in biomedical illustration, Benner was also falling in love with the idea of creating painted and quilted textile versions of her microscopic universe.

Women and birds have long been part of Goggio’s work, but in recent years, a woman Goggio refers to as “Mother Nature, personified” has been evolving, as have honey bees, dragonflies and butterflies because of her concern about the state of our environment.

Ireland’s art has been described as comforting, soothing, overwhelming in its simplicity and kindling a sense of growth and movement. He invites the viewer to seize his works’ colorful, kinetic energy and their complex play of shape, form, negative space and transparency.
