Last of the Season

“Leaf Dreams” by Pat Kroth.

Botanical art scarves and contemporary art quilts by Pat Kroth will be shown at the last Door County Wearable Art Show of the season. On Oct. 4 and 5 inside the Sister Bay Village Hall, Kroth’s hand-dyed and sun printed silks will be featured.

Using darkroom techniques, direct sunlight, real leaves and natural objects, Kroth casts shadows on the cloth to transform the silhouettes into permanent surface designs. The leaf prints reflect the changing colors of the season and the artist’s love of nature and outdoor activities.

Her contemporary art quilts have toured nationally for several years with recent exhibitions in Houston, Chicago and Long Beach. As an active exhibit curator and Midwest quilt association representative, she is looking forward to reconnecting with her Door County collectors and enjoying the autumn beauty of the county.

Hosted by Baileys Harbor fiber artist Sue Donohoo, of Soo Hoo Artwear, the two-day event will consist of 10 artists and their handcrafted apparel, accessories and jewelry. The Door County Wearable Art Show will be held on Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and Oct. 5 from 10 am to 4 pm inside the Sister Bay Village Hall, Waterfront Park, 10693 N. Bay Shore Dr. Admission is free. For more information, call 920.421.0449 or visit doorcountywearableartshow.com.
