Learn An Ancient Art at Algoma Atelier

The Algoma Atelier of Sculpture and Art will present a bronze casting class featuring professional instructors Ken and Mary Davidson on July 11-16, 10 am – 4 pm.

Learn the ancient art of bronze casting, using the lost wax process and today’s technologies and materials. Students will create their own original wax sculpture, make their own ceramic shell mold and actually pour the molten bronze into their mold. The class is open to all skill levels. All foundry tools and equipment will be furnished. The weeklong class will culminate with the bronze pour taking place July 15.

The class size is limited to six students; early reservations are recommended. The cost is $390 plus materials (bronze, propane, electricity, mold materials, etc.). A non-refundable deposit of $150 must be received by June 15, with the balance due on the first day of class. The Algoma Atelier is located at E5977 Fremont Road.
