Obituary: Mary Jane Mallien

Mary Jane Mallien, 93 years, of Sturgeon Bay, died Wednesday May 4, 2016 at Anna’s Healthcare in Sturgeon Bay.

She was born November 12, 1922 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of the late Edward Henry Londo and Otilda “Tillie” A. (Blonde) Londo. On November 11, 1942, she married Lawrence Mallien. He preceded her in death on September 7, 2009. Mary Jane was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, cooking and birdwatching.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay.

Survivors include her two sons, Larry (Barbara) Mallien, Jeff (Debby) Mallien; daughter, Debby (Ken) Karas; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Evangeline Perlewitz.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; son, John Mallien; sister and brother-in-law, Gen (Tee) Carlson; brother and sister-in-law, Roger (Pat) Londo; and brothers-in-law, Howard Perlewitz and Julius Alberts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Bob Stegmann officiating. Burial will follow in Bayside Cemetery.

Friends may call at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Memorials may be given in her memory for St. Joseph Catholic Church.
