Letter to the Editor: A Voice for All Citizens of Wisconsin

At a time when politicians can’t seem to get their heads around a solution to our nation’s health care woes, Senator Baldwin has been steadfast in her resolve to lower the costs of health care and prescriptions as well as gaining better access to health care for all Americans. She recognizes that tax credits or vouchers for those earning enough to pay federal taxes doesn’t come close to being called improved health care for the unemployed, elderly, under-employed, and others outside the mainstream of our economy. She opposed the idea of another tax cut for the wealthiest Americans and massive benefit cuts for the rest of us. Senator Tammy Baldwin understands this. She has introduced bi-partisan legislation to control raising prescription drug costs and has been a staunch supporter of Medicaid, health care services for women, and the thoughtful introduction of a single payer, health care for all Americans.

Our concerns, as citizens of Wisconsin, our interests, and needs are her concerns, not those of an out-of-state deep pocket financial backer. She is well respected among her Senate colleagues and is gaining leadership responsibilities. These are characteristics that serve the citizens of Wisconsin well. She is a voice for all of the people of Wisconsin representing us in Washington, D.C., and she is heard and respected in the halls of Congress.

Senator Baldwin is strong, honest and respectful of the concerns of the people she represents. At a time when the political leadership of this country is lacking in trust, experience, and honesty Senator Baldwin is the type of senator this country desperately needs.
