Jon and Natalie Jarosh, Jacksonport, are the parents of a boy born on Feb. 5, 2014, at Ministry Door County Medical Center, Sturgeon Bay. Grandparents are Davis & Elizabeth Sitte, Sister Bay, and Joe & Sue Jarosh, Jacksonport.

Sheena Parratta, Sturgeon Bay, is the parent of a son born Feb. 5, 2014, at Ministry Door County Medical Center, Sturgeon Bay. Maternal grandparents are David & Joan Kezo, Egg Harbor. Paternal grandparents are Mary Parratta, Merrill, Wis.

James and Jana Schneider, are the parents of a daughter born Feb. 5, 2014, at Ministry Door County Medical Center, Sturgeon Bay. Maternal grandparents are Peggy Richards, Sturgeon Bay, and Pat Richards, Washington Island. Paternal grandparents are Cathy and Mike Luhtala, Rothschild, Wis.

Nate, Carrie and Nora Smith of Baileys Harbor are pleased to announce the birth of Camilla Christine, Feb. 2, 2014, at Aurora Baycare Medical Center, Green Bay. Grandparents are Michael and Carol Smith of Westerly, RI, and Sue Baldwin of Stillwater, MN. Upon being born, Camilla did not see her shadow, prompting sighs of relief from the medical staff and her father, who was one of two people who would not have enjoyed six more weeks of gestation.

Anissa Ehmke and Matt Kalms are the parents of a daughter born Jan. 29, 2014, at Ministry Door County Medical Center, Sturgeon Bay. Maternal grandparents are Jim and Jean Ehmke, Baileys Harbor. Paternal grandparents are Steve and Jan Kalms, Sister Bay.

HONORS

Sturgeon Bay High School announces the Class of 2014 honor graduates: Valedictorian Cassandra Renfrew and Salutatorian O’Shea Schroedl. High Honors (top 10 percent GPA) are awarded to Renfrew, Schroedl, Monica Depies, Sean Sannito, Bailey Zak, Samantha Moeller, Megan Jones, Katrina Boucher, Jenna Forbes, Jaclyn Mosgaller, Marielle Abeyta-DeDecker and Gilliane Davison. Honors (minimum 3.750 GPA) went to Nathan Wendland, Andrew Spittlemeister, Kelsey Smith, Spojmai Wardak, Caroline Haen, Jasmine Noel, Arica Smith, Caralyn Mickey, Hannah Heldmann, Caroline Miller, David Safranski, Caitlin Reichel and Grant Roberts.

The commencement ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, June 8, at 4 pm in the Sturgeon Bay High School gym.

Mary J. Soyring, 80, of Sturgeon Bay, died Feb. 10, 2014, at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay. Committal services will be held in spring at Bayside Cemetery. Giles Anthony Tlachac

Giles A. Tlachac, 79, Sturgeon Bay, died Feb. 6, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, Feb. 15, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Feb. 14 at Huehns Funeral Home, and at the church from 9:30 am until time of service. A parish wake service will be held Friday at 8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Sunshine House in remembrance of son, Peter Tlachac.
