Light-Filled Artwork

“Sittin’ Pretty” by Carol Schalla.

The Door County Art League (DCAL) Gallery presents “Hot Summer Daze,” an exhibit of plein air artwork created by DCAL member artists, from July 18 to 24 at Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek. The public is invited to the opening reception on July 18, 3 – 5 pm, to enjoy wine, cheese, other hors d’oeuvres, and the plein air artwork.

The DCAL exhibit coincides with the Door County Plein Air Festival taking place at various locations throughout Door County. The gallery is getting in the spirit with its own special presentation of colorful, light-filled artwork created on location by DCAL’s outdoor painters.

Featured artists include Dianne Saron, Dorothy McDowell, Karen Shanahan, Jane Hamann, Barbara Timmerman, Barbara Kenyon, Polly Joubert, Penny Pfister, Carol Schalla and Ruth Sandor as well as the other artists who regularly exhibit in the gallery.

The DCAL Gallery features original watercolors, pastels, acrylic and oil paintings, photography and 3-D art, plus affordable art prints by DCAL artists. Gallery hours are 11 am to 5 pm daily, and open till 3 pm on Sundays. DCAL membership is open to all artists and anybody who wishes to support the visual arts in Door County.
