University of Wisconsin-Green Bay music professor Sarah Meredith Livingston was invited to be a member of the international jury at the 53rd International Dvorak Voice Competition in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, Nov. 7-17, 2018.
In the weeklong event, 106 singers from 26 countries participated, culminating in a public concert at the end of the week. Livingston, who lives in Sturgeon Bay; and Sharon Resch, a Green Bay arts supporter, also arranged a concert for Jiebing Chen, an international erhu player, at the opening event and then at a public concert at the Miro Gallery, Prague, Czech Republic on Nov. 12, 2018.
Livingston’s trip was made possible with partial support from UW-Green Bay’s Research Council. Resch was also honored at the competition for her patronage of the Czech/Slovak Voice Competition.
