Long-awaited Honors

Over the more than 50 years that Southern Door has been in existence, one of the proud educational traditions observed at this time of year is recognition of the graduating class valedictorian and salutatorian. It appears that this well-honored tradition stopped after 1972 and then started again in 1990.

At its May 27 meeting, the Southern Door Board of Education officially recognized through resolution the valedictorians and salutatorians of the classes from 1973-1989. They will also be recognized at the graduation ceremony for the class of 2014 on Sunday, June 1.
