Lori’s Spa Essence Offers Six-Week Somatics Class Series

Lori Strantz, owner of Lori’s Spa Essence in Fish Creek, is offering a new six-week Somatics class series. Strantz, who is a clinical somatic educator and licensed massage therapist, has spent more than 20 years working in the health and wellness industry. She specializes in helping people to relieve chronic pain and regain freedom of movement.

Somatic movement classes teach participants how to relieve and prevent pain in a way that isn’t taught in regular exercise classes. Classes will target the areas of your body that are affected by stress, anxiety and injury. Participants will lie on the floor as Strantz instructs you through slow, simple, enjoyable movements. There is no force or stretching involved in the movements; they are gentle, appropriate and beneficial for all levels of ability.

Classes will be held on Tuesdays, 10:30-11:30 am, Sept. 27 to Nov. 1. The cost is $72 for a six-week series and includes take-home handouts. Pre-registration required.
