Maritime Museum’s Festival of Trees Returns Nov. 14

After a successful third season in 2014 in which 42 festively decorated trees could be found throughout the Door County Maritime Museum, the Merry-Time Festival of Trees returns in 2015.

The festival will run from Nov. 14 through Dec. 8 with visitors invited to see what is expected to be an even grander extravaganza of trees during regular museum hours as well as special events planned throughout the nearly month-long festival.

Visitors will have the opportunity to enter a raffle in the hopes of winning their favorite tree. Each tree will be decorated with ornaments or “goodies” appropriate to its sponsor.

“Businesses, organizations, artists and creative individuals are invited to donate fully-decorated trees,” said Amy Paul, the museum’s marketing and communications manager. “A sign with the name of the tree sponsors will be prominently displayed with your tree throughout the 25 day event as well as mentions in our brochure, on our website, in our electronic newsletter distributions and in other event communications.”

Every day of the festival will be “kid’s day.” Every child accompanied by an adult will receive free admission to the museum with a nominal Cana Island restoration donation. Donations will have matching funds from Glen & Grace Rossman with Thrivent Financial. The regular adult museum admission of $10 will apply.

The event culminates with the “Jingle, Jingle, Mix & Mingle” on Dec. 8 offering a bountiful reception, the opportunity to browse and bid in a silent and live auction, and the culmination of the raffle ticket tree giveaway. Click here for more information.
