Martin Park Concert Series

A concert series begins July 9 at Martin Park with the Peninsula Symphonic Band, and will continue each Monday through Aug. 6, highlighting Door County Library’s summer theme of “Libraries Rock.” The outdoor concert series features Door County musical acts in classical, rock and jazz styles.

“Martin Park is such a wonderful venue in the middle of downtown, and only a few blocks away from the Sturgeon Bay branch. It was a great fit,” said Library Director Tina Kakuske. “Bring a lunch and enjoy a picnic and rock with the Library.”

All concerts are free, just bring a chair, some lunch (or dinner) and enjoy. If there’s inclement weather, the Sturgeon Bay concerts will be held in the Miller Art Museum. All concerts in Martin Park begin at 12 pm. Artists include Peninsula Symphonic Band (July 9), Jeanne Kuhns (July 16), Dorothy Scott (July 23), Door County Folk Alliance (July 30), and Birch Creek Jazz Ambassadors (Aug. 6).

Concerts are also being held at the Egg Harbor, Ephraim and Sister Bay/Liberty Grove libraries. Featured artists include the Door County Folk Alliance at 5 pm on July 20 at the Kress Pavilion and July 26, 6 pm in the Ephraim Village Hall, and the Birch Creek Jazz Ambassadors at 12 pm on July 23 at the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove library.
