Meet Local Authors at Book Fair

Write On, Door County will host its second Door County Author and Book Fair on Oct. 1, 10 am – 3 pm. The free, family-friendly event will take place outdoors under a large canopy tent, where authors and attendees will be protected in the event of inclement weather.

Dozens of writers of children’s books, poetry, fiction and nonfiction will attend, along with playwrights and creators of arts and photography books. Authors will be signing books and discussing their writing process and journeys to becoming published authors.

Among the writers slated to appear are children’s authors Sally Collins and Amy Phimister, novelists Val Clarizio and J.B. Sensenbrenner, nonfiction writers Erika Nelson and Bob Ojala, and poets Tom and Ethel Davis and Ann Heyse. Also represented will be the Door County Published Authors Collective, the Door County Poetry Collective, the Door County Playwrights Collective and 8142 Review, the literary journal of the Peninsula Pulse’s Hal Prize.

Each author will have books available for purchase. Not all will be able to accept credit cards, however, so attendees are encouraged to take cash or checks. Find more details at writeondoorcounty.org.
