Mr. G’s Hosts Door Shakespeare’s Bard’s Birthday Bash

Door Shakespeare’s Bard’s Birthday Bash/Trivia Challenge will take place May 19 at Mr. G’s Ballroom in Valmy. The fundraiser takes place from 7 to 10 pm, but the doors open at 6 pm for patrons who want to dine early. The $30 entry ticket allows participation in the games, as well as access to an array of heavy hors d’oeuvres, one drink, and dancing and music by Dow Jones beginning at 10 pm. A cash bar will be available. Supporters also have the option of coming just for the entertainment, for $10 each.

Teams will compete in trivia from a wide range of subjects, with a special focus on anything dealing with Shakespeare. Patrick Fernan of Madison is hosting the competition. Fernan is a three-time “Jeopardy!” champion and a winner in “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.” Winners of the trivia games will receive prizes; raffles and a door prize will also be part of the night’s entertainment.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit Door Shakespeare, which performs in an outdoor theater at Bjِrklunden near Baileys Harbor. The 2012 season starts June 29 and includes As You Like It and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)!
