New Forestville Town Clerk, But Nasewaupee Still Needs One

The Forestville Town Board has appointed Theresa Tlachac as town clerk to serve in that elected position through the end of the unexpired term in April 2025.

Tlachac has a background in accounting and replaced Ruth Kerscher, who resigned last month as town clerk because of family health reasons, said town chair Kevin Guilette.

Forestville’s town clerk has an elected term of two years.

The Town of Nasewaupee, which switched from an elected to an appointed clerk in April of 2023, is still looking to fill its vacant clerk position, said town chair Steve Sullivan.

Jill Lau, who wrapped up her final term as Nasewaupee’s final elected clerk last year when she was also elected as a town supervisor, is serving as the town’s interim clerk.

This is Lau’s second stint as the town’s interim clerk. She most recently took over that role when Janice Barrett resigned in February, three months after being appointed. Lau had also filled in as clerk for more than six months last year after Donna Wolak resigned as the first appointed clerk.
