Nickols and Wickert at DCAL

The Gallery of Door County Art League (DCAL) in Fish Creek is featuring the artwork of Marcia Nickols and Keith Wickert, artists of the week, July 15 – 22.

Nickols, of Ephraim, paints reflections of light and water in oils and watercolor. Her gallery display features a series of oils focusing on the light reflections created by the Fresnel lens at the Cana Island Lighthouse. In addition, her watercolors feature waterscapes painted on her travels to Europe and Egypt.

In 2011, Nickols participated in the Hardy Gallery’s invitational art show. Nickols is also president of DCAL.

Wickert, of Sister Bay, always carries his camera. He likes to explore nature, searching for special shots that feature interesting forms, colors and details. Wickert studied photography at The Clearing, UW –Extension and on field trips with photographer Dan Anderson. Wickert is the treasurer of DCAL.

The gallery, open daily from 10 am – 5 pm, is located at the Top of the Hill Shops on Highway 42 in Fish Creek.
