No One Fights Alone Benefit

Randy Bruce and friends will be performing at the event to celebrate Joan Lautenbach Doubek, including two songs that he wrote about Joan and the experience they went through.

“I’m thrilled that I’m able to do that as part of the healing process for myself and everybody else, and keeping her alive with these songs,” he said, adding that there will also be performances by Joan’s brother Jim Lautenbach and her niece Sarah.

Joan’s sister, Julie Ploor, said the fundraiser at the Draft Haus in Sturgeon Bay on Nov. 9 will feature several auctions and a 50/50 raffle in the hopes of raising enough money to pay off Joan’s remaining medical bills.

“Our goal is to help the girls (Joan’s daughters Abby, 18, and Megan, 23) pay off the medical expenses, but we also hope to donate some to Door CANcer and Neighbor to Neighbor. We had a truckload of equipment from Neighbor to Neighbor, everything Joan needed. They’re angels in disguise. They really, really are.”

For those who cannot make the Nov. 9 event but would still like to contribute, donations can be sent to the Joan Lautenbach Doubek Fund, c/o Baylake Bank, 34 W. Maple St., Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235.
