Obituary: Erma Hartwig

December 8, 1932 ~ May 11, 2020

Erma Jean Hartwig, 87, of Brussels, passed away at Oak Creek CBRF in Luxemburg on May 11, 2020.  She was born December 8, 1932 in the Town of Gardner to Clarence and Irene (Engebose) Krause.  On May 16, 1953 she married Sylvester H. Hartwig; he preceded her in death on December 9, 2008.

Erma and Sylvester farmed in the town of Gardner for many years.  She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, cooking and was an avid Packer fan. She especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends.  She was a lifelong and dedicated member of the Precious Blood Episcopal Church in Gardner.

Survivors include her 4 children, Clayton (Kim) Hartwig, Bruce (Dolly) Hartwig, Debbie (Randy) Maccoux, and Dean (Julie) Hartwig; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one great-grand daughter, a brother, Elmer (Louise) Krause, two sisters, Celia (Gordon) Alberts, and Verna Krause.

Due to current public health restrictions, private family services will be conducted at Forbes Funeral Home and entombment will take place at the Shrine of Good Shepherd Mausoleum.   A public memorial mass will be held when the social ban has been lifted.  Memorials may be directed to Precious Blood Episcopal Church in her name (P.O.
