Obituary: Wayne Albert Schley

May 10, 1947 ~ December 16, 2020

Wayne Albert Schley, 73, of the Village of Pound, died on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

He was born May 10, 1947 in Sturgeon Bay, son of the late Albert and Mayburn (Van Dreese) Schley. Wayne worked at Peterson Builders for many years until his accident in 1985 restricted him being able to work anymore. He was an avid card player, a dedicated Packer fan, and enjoyed watching NASCAR and off-road races. Wayne also loved to spend time with his house mates.

Wayne will be missed by his twin brother, Harold Schley; sister, Charlene (John) Dehart; niece, Kim (Joe) Stegall; nephews, David Schmidt, Robert Johnson, and Richard (Tonya) Johnson; sons, Tony and Scott Schley; and daughter, Lisa Schley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mayburn Schley; stepmother, Dorothy Schley; and sister, Rose Johnson.

Wayne’s life will be honored with a memorial service on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay. He will be laid to rest in the Bayside Cemetery in the spring of 2021.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In consideration of the current local and statewide COVID-19 health guidelines, those in attendance are required to wear facemasks and maintain social distancing. Temperature checks and hand sanitizer will be provided upon entry into funeral home. A 25% dual chapel occupancy will be permitted.
