Open Classes at The Clearing

The Clearing has another season of weeklong classes lined up. And there are still openings for both residential and commuter students in many of the 90 classes scheduled.

Some of the May and June classes that still have openings include A Clearing Art Sampler (fused glass, wood turning and paper arts) the week of May 4th; Beginning Watercolor and Outside the Box: Creating An Artist Book & Sculptural Box the week of May 18th; Beginning Bird Watching the week of May 25th; Broom Making the week of June 1st; The Civil War the week of June 8th and Norbert Blei Writing Workshops the week of June 22nd.

Weeklong classes begin with supper on Sunday evening and end with breakfast on Saturday. During the week, students have a chance to immerse themselves in their class, enjoy and explore The Clearing’s beautiful landscape and become part of the unique community that develops each week.

Classes are held in the Schoolhouse or Workshop on The Clearing’s historic campus. Meals are served family-style in the Lodge, which, along with the rest of campus, is on the State and National Registers of Historic Places.

The complete line-up of The Clearing’s 2014 weeklong classes is available at theclearing.org. For a catalog, call 920.854.4088 or 877.854.3225 or stop by the Jens Jensen Center at The Clearing, 12171 Garrett Bay Road in Ellison Bay from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
