Opening Exhibit of Nancie King Mertz Paintings at Linden Gallery

Linden Gallery in Ellison Bay is pleased to announce the opening exhibit of plein air paintings by Nancie King Mertz. Mertz’s oils and pastels are Impressionistic in style, with 60 percent of her work created en plein air. She is a Master Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and the Chicago Pastel Painters and was awarded the coveted Master Circle Medal from the Int’l Assoc. of Pastel Societies in 2015.

Mertz paints approximately 100 pieces annually in pastel or oil and has traveled to more than 20 countries for inspiration to paint on site. She travelled to China with Jeanee and Brian Linden on their first Plein Air Painting tour in 2008. Her body of work of people and landscapes of Southwest China is a reminder of a culture that is rapidly changing and disappearing.

Mertz has twice been named “Chicago Artist of the Year” and her work is featured on Chicago-based television such as The Good Wife, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Empire.

Linden Gallery, open 10 am – 5 pm daily, is located in at 12001 Mink River Road in Ellison Bay. For more information, call 920.854.2487 or visit lindensgallery.com.
