Panel Discussion Will Explore Lake Michigan’s Volatile Water Levels

Wildly varying Lake Michigan water levels have played havoc with the state’s shoreline and infrastructure. What do we need to know, and how can we weigh in?

A panel discussion will tackle those questions Nov. 4, 7 pm, at Crossroads at Big Creek, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay. The event will explore the ways in which northeastern Wisconsin communities can protect their shorelines and feature insights gathered during the reporting for Wisconsin Watch’s upcoming series, Imperiled Shores. The Peninsula Pulse will also run that series online and in upcoming issues.

Those who are vaccinated may join the panel event in person, and registration is required for both the in-person and livestreamed events. At beyondtheheadlineswisconsin.org/greater-green-bay, select the in-person or virtual option to be taken to the corresponding Eventbrite site.

This event is sponsored by Beyond the Headlines: Wisconsin’s Water Future, a program of Wisconsin Humanities in partnership with Wisconsin Watch and NEW News Lab, a consortium of news media in northeastern Wisconsin.
