Peninsula Singers Hold Christmas Concerts

The Peninsula Singers, joined by The Anderson Brass, will perform their 35th annual Christmas concerts at the Sturgeon Bay United Methodist Church on Dec. 13 at 7 pm and again at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek at 3 pm on Dec. 14.

Sixty voices and the Anderson Brass quartet – two trumpets, trombone and tuba – will open the concert with “Gloria Fanfare.” Artistic Director Merle Colburn selected music from around the world which reflects the joy of the Christmas season: “Over Snowy Winter Roads” from Estonia; “Mary’s Little Boy Child” from the Caribbean; “Sleigh Bells” from Ukraine; “Sing We Now of Christmas” from France; “Betelehemu” from Nigeria, and “O Come, Little Children” from Germany.

Joining Merle, assistant director Martha Ranek and piano accompanist Janet Anderson have been rehearsing with The Peninsula Singers since September to bring their gift of choral music to the community. Contributions to support the nonprofit organization are gratefully accepted. For more information visit ThePeninsulaSingers.org.
