Peninsula Singers Present Joy of Spring Concerts

The Peninsula Singers are ready to welcome spring with the Joy of Song Concerts. There will be two concerts Mother’s Day weekend, one on May 11 at 7 pm at the United Methodist Church in Sturgeon Bay and May 12 at 3 pm at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek. The May 12 concert is in honor of the late Marian Hislop in recognition of her support of the performing arts in Door County.

Artistic Director Merle Colburn selected both serious and light-hearted music that audiences will enjoy: a medley from the recent Oscar-winning movie Les Misérables, In Paradisum by Dan Forrest, a poem by E.E. Cummings set to music, and several numbers arranged by John Leavitt.

Although there is no admission charge for the concerts, the singers appreciate donations to help support their non-profit organization.
