Pioneers Sweep Home Volleyball Triangular

Sevastopol’s girls volleyball team hosted a triangular meet with Kohler and Manitowoc Roncalli and won both of its matches.

The Pioneers defeated Kohler in the best-of-three games, 2-1. In the first game won by Sevastopol, 25-13, the Pioneers scored 12 of those points with Alaina Schopf, senior outside all-around, serving. Kohler won the second game, 25-21, when Sevastopol libero Eve Andreae accounted for a third of the team’s points. The Pioneers won the third game, 15-13, which featured Schopf hitting the ball while being set up by freshman Brynn Schartner.

Sevastopol won its match over Roncalli in two straight games. The Pioneers went on a seven-point run in the first game with freshman Aleah Volkman serving and junior Kayla Ranly recording six kills in a row en route to winning, 25-20. The Pioneers went on to win the second game, 25-10, as Ranly ended the match with 13 service points, seven digs and 10 kills.

Kohler ended up winning the match against Roncalli, 2-1.
