Poetry Slamming Cancer

The sixth graders of Gibraltar Elementary School are hosting a Poetry Slam to benefit DOOR CANcer. Everyone from the community is invited to attend on May 29, 2 – 5 pm, at Door Community Auditorium. The students from Mr. Burress’ class and Mrs. Ball’s class will read original poetry they’ve written over the final quarter of school. The poetry will run continuously with additional entertainment, food and drink in the atrium. Guests are welcome to come and go as they please in this open house poetry reading.

Food has been donated for sale from local businesses and the sixth grade class would like to thank them for their generosity. Thanks to Alexander’s for providing macaroni and cheese, The Piggly Wiggly for fruit and veggie trays, Uncle Tom’s for their delicious sweets, Orchard Country Winery for juice and Base Camp for coffee.

The cost is $5 for adults and kids are free. All money will be donated to DOOR CANcer. For more information visit poetrydoorcancer.weebly.com.
