Pond Hockey Tourney Fills, Scorekeepers Wanted

The 2018 Door County Pond Hockey Tournament has filled with its largest field of teams yet.

Forty-five teams have signed up to compete in six divisions in the fifth annual tournament. The one-day tournament takes place Saturday, Feb. 10, on Kangaroo Lake. Play begins at 8 am and continues until 4 pm, when division winners will be awarded the coveted Stanley Thermos and growlers of Door County Brewing Co. beer!

If you can’t play, there are other ways to be part of the fun on the lake. Organizers are seeking scorekeepers to work shifts throughout the day. No hockey knowledge is required, you just have to tally the scores. All scorekeepers will get food, beverages and some sweet Door County Pond Hockey Tournament gear.

There will also be a spectator warming tent on the ice, with food and beverages for sale. After the tournament there will be live music at Door County Brewing Co. Music Hall and Taproom, plus post-tournament fun at Thyme Cuisine and Cornerstone Pub.
