Reading the Ridges II

The beautiful landscapes, wildflowers and wildlife of The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor have inspired writers and artists for over 75 years. Reading the Ridges II, opening July 1 in the Link Gallery of the Door Community Auditorium, is an invitational art exhibit of original work inspired by The Ridges Sanctuary or The Ridges at Logan Creek.

The exhibit features over 60 artists who created work reflecting the pristine beauty and ecological character of The Ridges. Currently celebrating its 75th anniversary, The Ridges is a place of inspiration, solitude and reflection for Door County visitors and residents. Almost all of the exhibit’s participating artists are from Door County or have strong connections to Door County sites or galleries.

Like the original exhibit held in March 2010, Reading the Ridges II includes photographs, watercolors, oils and pastels, as well as dimensional works in wood, glass, metal and clay. The exhibit will run through Aug. 2 and the public is invited to the opening reception for the artists at the auditorium on July 1 from 1 – 3 pm.

Reading the Ridges II was organized by a committee of The Ridges and is made possible by the generous sponsorship of The Glidden Lodge Beach Resort.

The Link Gallery, located at 3926 Hwy 42 in Fish Creek, is open Monday through Friday from 12 – 5 pm. For more information call 920.839.2802 or visit http://www.RidgesSanctuary.org.
