Rogue Theater Presents ‘A Girl of the Limberlost’

Rogue Theater is bringing two shows to Baileys Harbor this summer.  The first – A Girl of the Limberlost – will open July 19. Adapted by Marie Kohler from the classic 1909 novel, it transports the audience to Indiana’s once-vast Limberlost Swamp. Elnora, a 14-year-old girl with a passion for butterflies and moths, loves the Limberlost, but she longs to attend high school in the city, despite her mother’s resistance. During the play, she works to find her footing at school and at home.

With this production, Rogue introduces three new actors to Door County theater: Mary Caroline Wilkerson, Kent Moraga and Leann Johnson. Wilkerson (Elnora) is a recent graduate of Homestead High School in Mequon, Wisconsin. Moraga is a hornist for Sunrise Winds and is involved with the Door County Folk Alliance and Sugar on the Floor band. Johnson has assisted local theaters as a costumer, make-up artist and set designer.

Other cast members are Timothy Wesley-Bee, Kiarra Rux, Pamela Johnson, Carol Jensen-Olson, Kalei Klaubauf, Isabel Vreeke, Kekoa Bicoy and Laney Delwiche. Stuart Champeau and Lola DeVillers co-direct the show.

Performances will take place July 19-27 at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall, 2392 Cty F. Shows run Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 7:30 pm; and Sunday, 2 pm. Tickets are $15 per adult and $10 per student. To buy tickets or learn more, call 920.818.0816 or visit facebook.com/roguetheater.
