Rogue Theater Presents ‘Lone Star’

(Left to right) Marcel Bruyere, Stuart Champeau, and Elliot Goettleman star in Rogue Theater’s production of ‘Lone Star.’

Door County’s newest theater ensemble, Rogue Theater, will present the one-act play Lone Star by James McClure at various Door County venues.

Directed by Stuart Champeau, the play tells the story of two brothers, Roy, played by Elliot Goettleman, and Ray, played by Champeau, who are shooting the breeze behind Angel’s Bar in Maynard, Texas.

Roy has been out of Vietnam for two years now, but can’t quite get used to all the changes that have taken place since he left. A couple of things do stay the same – getting drunk behind Angel’s, the stars, and his love for his 1959 Pink Thunderbird Convertible. But what happens later that night may change the lives of the two brothers. Marcel Bruyere also stars as the pencil-pushing, loafer wearing Cletis T. Fullernoy.

Lone Star will have audiences laughing and contemplating heavy subject matter (with a little rough language).

Lone Star will be performed April 26 at 7 pm at Birch Creek Performance Center near Egg Harbor (920.868.3763.) The Lodge at Leathem Smith will host a dinner show on April 27 with dinner beginning at 7 pm (920.743.5555). Third Avenue Playhouse will showcase the play May 3 and 4 at 7:30 pm (920.743.1760). Tickets to each show cost $15; the dinner show costs $38 per ticket. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling the venues.
