Schneider Wins Door County Half Marathon for 3rd Time

Rodee Schneider won the Door County Half Marathon for the third time Saturday on a warm day in Peninsula State Park.

Schneider, of Madison, finished in 1:16:25, 15 seconds ahead of Jake Erschen.

Katelynn Williams fought her way through the heat to pace the women with a time of 1:28:43. The Madison resident finished more than a minute in front of second place Amanda Kaiser.

Of the 1,472 runners who finished the half marathon, 844 were women.

Another 737 runners took part in the Nicolet Bay 5k, with Mark Caballero of Milwaukee taking first in 16:16. Anna Gray of Green Bay paced the women in 18:29.

Winners of both races took home prize packages including gift cards from local shops and restaurants, lodging packages, and pottery created by Race Director Brian Fitzgerald.
