Scholarships Available for EAA’s Air Academy Basic Camp

The Friends of Ephraim/Gibraltar Airport are offering two one-week scholarships to EAA’s Air Academy Basic Camp in Oshkosh. The scholarship competition is open to students ages 14-15 attending any of Door County’s five high schools as well as those enrolled in the home-school network.

The Air Academy Basic Camp offers an introduction to the world of aviation through hands-on experiments, specialized laboratory activities, demonstrations, and “flying” EAA’s flight simulators.

The 2014 dates for the Air Academy Basic Camps are as follows: July 7 – 12, or July 14 – 19. Students will stay at Air Academy Lodge while attending the academy and all meals and local transportation are included.

To be considered, student candidates are asked to write a letter of application describing their aviation interests and aspirations. Interested students should send their letters of application to Gary Chaudoir, 10130 Old Stage Ln., Sister Bay, 54234, by March 15. For more information visit youngeagles.org/programs/airacademy.
