Sevastopol School District Offers 4K Screening

The Sevastopol School District will conduct a district-wide developmental 4K screening April 15, 8 am – 2:30 pm, in the elementary-school library, 4550 Hwy 57 in Sturgeon Bay. Advance registration is requested. 

This screening is being conducted with other Child Find activities: public-awareness initiatives, screening and evaluation designed to identify and refer children who need an Early Intervention Program (Part C) or Early Childhood Special Education (Part B) services. This requirement applies to children who are not yet enrolled in school and those who are enrolled in a religious or private school.  

The screening process includes a formalized, optional face-to-face screening during which the child shares thinking, language and motor skills. This helps professionals to detect conditions that may interfere with a child’s growth, learning or development; seek solutions; increase parents’ awareness of resources and services; and have children enter school ready to learn.
