Sister Bay Centennial Celebration & Jumpin’ June Events

Sister Bay Centennial Celebration & Jumpin’ June events celebrate 100 years of history with events and activities on June 8 and 9.

Festivities begin June 8 at 7 pm with opening ceremonies at the Sister Bay Village Hall. There will be historical tales through music, photographs and stories; refreshments will also be provided.

Events on June 9 include hat decorating at 10 am, a parade for kids at 11:30 am, games in Waterfront Park until 1:30 pm, a “Taste of Sister Bay” from 12 – 2 pm, Door County Trolley tours, tours of Weborg’s Fish Tug at Marina Dock and the Newtonburg Brass Band performs from 2 – 4 pm. Weekend activities end at 7 pm with the facial hair contest, a performance by Polka Man Dale & the Bellows & Strings Band and a bonfire at the beach with s’mores.

Children interested in riding in the parade should meet in the parking lot behind Bhirdo’s Shell Station at 11 am. For the parade children can compete for prizes by dressing up and decorating bikes, trikes and hats to represent summer. Prizes will be given to Best Bike, Best Trike and Best Hat. Cookies and juice will be provided to parade participants at the park.

The Lion’s Club will sell food outside the Village Hall. Centennial postcards and commemorative t-shirts and hats will also be for sale.
