StageKids Holds ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’ Auditions for Kids and Adults

StageKids, the Third Avenue Playhouse (TAP) community-based educational theater company, announces auditions for Barbara Robinson’s The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

Performances will be Nov. 18 and 19 at 7:30 pm with additional matinees at 2 pm on Nov. 19 and 20. Auditions are Oct. 1, 3 – 5 pm, and Oct. 4, 3:30 – 5 pm, and will consist of readings from the script. Roles are available for children and adults alike. Rehearsals will begin Oct. 6 and run Monday through Thursdays, 3:30 – 5 pm, and Saturdays, 3 – 5 pm.

The production will be directed by TAP company member Amy Ensign, who previously directed StageKids’ The Littlest Angel, The Birds’ Christmas Carol, and TAP’s Love, Loss, and What I Wore. Ensign is also the Theatre Director for Sevastopol School and works on staff at TAP as the Marketing and Development Director.

In The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, the Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world. They lie, steal, smoke cigars, and swear. So no one is prepared when this outlaw family invades church one Sunday and decides to take over the annual Christmas pageant. This comedy is adapted from the best-selling book by Barbara Robinson, and has become a holiday staple for Third Avenue Playhouse, StageKids, and groups across the United States. The play features plenty of great roles for children and adults, a few favorite Christmas Carols, and a lot of laughs.
