Strivers Gymnasts Earn Gold, Southern Door Hosts Fishing Schedule

Four members of the Door County YMCA Strivers gymnastic team captured gold in the all-around competition Jan. 18-19 at the Marinette Menominee YMCA.
Leading the Strivers team were Level 7 gymnast Makiala McCambridge, who earned gold in the all-around, floor, vault and bars; Excel Gold gymnast Abby DeClark, who won gold in the all-around, bars and vault, and third on beam; Excel Silver gymnast Shylee Asher, who took the gold in the all-around, floor and bars, and second on beam; and Level 1 gymnast Megan Quarderer, who won gold in the all-around.
Strivers placing in the top three were: Miya Eliyha, Level 8; Daylia Sound, Level 6; Sophia Sternard, Level 4; Shaylyn Asher, Level 1; Elloise Bloniarz, Madison Voight, Alexa Seyfer-Jimenez and Delaney Wilke, Silver; and Amira Anschutz, Lauren Pratt and Anna Gallardo-Ibarra, Gold.
Nikki Pollman, Amy Gamble, Gerritt DeJonge, Heather Haese, Mikki Rankin and Libby Pieczynski coach the Strivers.
Southern Door High School held its first invitational ice-fishing event of 2020 on Jan. 18, with students participating from Southern Door, Sturgeon Bay and North Fond du Lac. Cabela’s gift cards were awarded to the top three places in each division.
Panfish Division
First: Sam Strobel, North Fond du Lac, 13.5-inch crappie; second: Sam Strobel, North Fond du Lac, 13-inch crappie; third: Zach Wendt, North Fond du Lac, 12.5-inch crappie
Bass Division
First: Sam Strobel, North Fond du Lac, 17.5 inches; second: Brayden LeMieux, Southern Door, 17 inches; tie for third: Luke Bousley, Southern Door, 16.75 inches, and Conner Nobel, North Fond du Lac, 16.75 inches
Pike Division
First: Luke Bousley, Southern Door, 28 inches; tie for second: Alex Deuchart, Sturgeon Bay, 26.25 inches, and Aiden Deuchart, Sturgeon Bay, 26.25 inches
