Students Receive Fine Arts Awards

On April 28, the Sturgeon Bay Breakfast Rotary Club presented its 19th annual Fine Arts Awards of Excellence to students from Sevastopol, Gibraltar, Southern Door and Sturgeon Bay High Schools. Teachers nominated students for recognition in the areas of art, choral music, instrumental music, drama, forensics and journalism.

Sevastopol honorees were Alexis Fields (art), Rachel Hietpas (choral music), Natalie Meikle (drama), Mya Ploor (instrumental music) and Margaret Hartman (journalism).

Gibraltar honorees were Eva Armbruster (art), Lia Smith (choral music), Evan Henry (drama), Ethan Farnham (forensics) and Eric Hoyerman (instrumental music).

Recognized students from Southern Door were Jessica Jacobson (art), Margaret Grota (choral music), Shaina Skaletski (drama), Anna Huntley (forensics) and Alexis Jandrin (instrumental music).

Honored Sturgeon Bay students were Ellie Johnson (art), Gracee Abeyta-DeDecker (journalism), Marley Gigstead (choral music), Brant Grahl (drama), Josephine Morkin (forensics) and Olivia Wery (instrumental music).The Rotary Club meets Tuesdays, 7:30 am, at Hope United Church of Christ and welcomes new members.
