Taj Mahal, James McMurtry and Rising Appalachia at DCA

Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal, James McMurtry and Rising Appalachia will all perform on the Door Community Auditorium stage within the same week in July.

Blues Legend Taj Mahal will perform on July 13. A New York-born composer and multi-instrumentalist, Mahal is a two-time Grammy winner and one of the most influential American blues and roots artists of the past half-century. Tickets range from $29 to $55.

On July 15, James McMurtry, one of the strongest American songwriters of the last half-century, will take the stage. An accomplished singer and guitarist, McMurtry has released ten albums over his prolific, Grammy-nominated career, and the poignant lyrics of his immense catalogue still ring true today. Tickets range from $18 to $28.

The genre-bending sister band Rising Appalachia will perform on July 19. Based around sisters Leah and Chloe Smith, Rising Appalachia combines traditional Appalachian songs with soul music, spoken word poetry, and even beat-boxing to create a one-of-a-kind sound. Tickets range from $15 to $25.

Shows begin at 8 pm, and advance reservations are recommended. For tickets, call 920.868.2728, visit dcauditorium.org, or stop by the DCA box office. The box office is located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek and is open 12 – 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
