The largest and longest-running 5K race in Door County is almost here. Save money and hassle when you sign up online for the July 4 Hairpin Run in Fish Creek.
The run is an Independence Day tradition for hundreds of families. Not only do runners kick off their July Fourth celebrations with a run or walk on a beautiful course and go home with a great race T-shirt, but they also help to supply all of the funding for the field trips and enrichment experiences that the Friends of Gibraltar organization provides for K-12 students.
The race starts at 8 am and takes runners up the challenging Fish Creek hill at the start, followed by a winding, closed road course down Gibraltar Bluff Road before heading down the famous Hairpin hill. Runners finish with a homestretch through the canopy and past the beautiful homes on Cottage Row.
Sign up in advance here and save on race-day fees. You can also sign up in-person at packet pickup on Friday, July 3 from 4-7 pm, and Saturday from 6:30-7:30 am, but advance registration is strongly encouraged.
