TAP Announces 2016 Summer/Fall Season

Third Avenue Playhouse has announced its 2016 summer/fall season.

From June 30 – July 23, TAP brings Isaac’s Eye to the stage, directed by Robert Boles. This amazingly creative new work playfully presents the 17th Century world of Isaac Newton in a completely contemporary and wildly theatrical setting. A battle between two great intellects (with egos to match) results in an entertaining evening of theater that pulses with wit, humor and tension.

The musical Madame Sherry, adapted and directed by James Valcq with Jack Forbes Wilson as musical director, takes the stage July 28 – Sept. 3. This vintage 1910 musical comedy is stuffed with songs, laughs and dances. When a man-about-town’s secret life is about to be discovered by his stuffy benefactor, the ensuing amorous misadventures take him from his Manhattan dance studio to a yacht. It’s music and merriment on the high “C’s” in a show which was one of the iconic hits of its era, but which hasn’t been seen in a professional production in over 30 years.

From Sept. 8 – Oct. 16 is The Gin Game, directed by Robert Boles. Humor and psychological warfare crackle over a card game between two quick-witted residents of an assisted living facility in this Pulitzer Prize-winning play.
