Third Avenue Playhouse Announces Cast for Summer & Fall Season

Third Avenue Playhouse (TAP), Door County’s year-round professional theater company, announces the casts for the 2016 Summer/Fall season, running June 30 through Oct. 16. The productions take audiences from a contemporary vision of a historical figure through a 21st century re-imagining of a 1910 musical comedy and ends with a modern American classic about forging a friendship over a simple game of gin.

Bob Boles and James Valcq, TAP’s co-artistic directors, chose the season and company. “We like to take our audiences to unexpected and surprising places,” said Valcq.

This summer and fall the TAP stage will be filled by new faces as well as returning favorites. Making their TAP debuts are Anna Cline, Adam Estes, Anna Mae Beyer, Kelsey Wang, Jack Forbes Wilson and Jared Davis. Returning TAP alums are Kay Allmand, Dan Klarer, Debra Babich, Kaleigh Rae Gamache, Ryan Patrick Shaw and Claire Morkin. Last but certainly not least, TAP’s 2016 artist-in-residence is Drew Brhel.

Madame SherryIsaac’s Eye is opening the season at TAP on June 30. The production playfully presents the 17th Century world of Isaac Newton in a completely contemporary and wildly theatrical setting. A battle between two great intellects (with egos to match) results in an entertaining evening of theatre that pulses with wit, humor and tension.

Madame Sherry plays July 28-Sept. 3, and The Gin Game plays Sept. 8-Oct. 16.

The Third Avenue Playhouse performs Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2 pm from June 30 to Oct. 16, with a one-night only performance of Will Durst’s “Elect to Laugh” on Sept. 25 at 7:30 pm.

Individual and group tickets are available, with discounts and membership benefits through the TAP Flex Pass and VIP membership programs. For information or to reserve tickets, visit thirdavenueplayhouse.com, call 920.743.1760, or stop by the box office, across the street from the theater at 234 N. Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.
